Lisa had an unfortunate accident while working on the job at an event in D.C. An unsecured table fell on her foot, breaking three bones and leaving her with a long road to recovery ahead.
Admirably, Lisa had multiple jobs at the time of the incident, and when we took on her case, we ensured that she was compensated for each of those jobs. Her injury occurred in the fall, and by spring, Lisa received her settlement without any interruption to her benefits.
Throughout the process, Lisa gained a new perspective. She learned the complexities of the workers’ compensation system and realized the importance of standing up for herself and others, even telling others about us. We laughed as she told me, “I told my friend, don’t talk to the insurance company and get to the doctor!” We taught her well.
Lisa’s journey from injury to recovery has inspired her to live life fully and support others going through similar experiences.
We were there for her from beginning to end, expediting the process right away. What Lisa valued the most was the consistent communication from Frank and our Paralegal Paul.
That communication was there every step of the way, and she made it easy as she is an absolute joy to work with. Her positive attitude and the strength she displayed were inspiring and we were honored to have a part in that.
She faced something most people hurt at work deal with: the fear of returning back to work too early and making the injury worse, the anxiety of answering the many calls, emails, and texts by management and the insurance company. She was understandably overwhelmed. Our goal from the beginning is to instill the confidence that we’ve got this.
By handling her case on a personal level, we took away her stress and helped her regain control of her life.
Lisa just got back from visiting her daughter in California and looks forward to more travels, more volunteer work, and a peaceful life.
